Novel Rating 5/5 ⭐️
But I can’t let them destroy me like they destroyed her.”
*This novel was given to me in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are indeed my own.*
Where do I even begin to describe this novel? In simple way, I will say that I was utterly amazed with Fix Me! I was so taken that it only took me a day to finish!! The storyline is simply captivating, even the book cover had me hooked from the beginning. Every character we meet has a strong influence, starting with Pen or Penelope (the prettiest name ever.) Out of all the characters, I had the strongest connection to Pen, I understood the pain she felt and why she kept spiraling into habits she shouldn’t indulge. I understood everything about her on every level. Every character had something to bring to the table or shall we say the storyline, which is a strong attribute coming from the writer Lisa. The ending had a twist that I never saw coming, my jaw hit the floor, I also cried a little. But what else is new!
To me, the title has a double meaning. FIX is the name of the drug that takes over Pen’s life, BUT let’s take into account that Pen’s life is spiraling out of control with substances abuse after her sister committed suicide. The title can literally be a cry for help because Pens life is plummeting. Whether the author took that double standard into account or not, it’s absolutely amazing to me. I was very sad when I finished reading because I realized it was over! I wanted more! Fix Me has definitely made it to the top of my favorites list, it was seriously that good!!
Here is the synopsis of FIX ME.
- “Penelope Wryter’s life has been a mess ever since her sister committed suicide a year ago. Now Pen’s hooked on Fix, an illegal drug that makes her feel, think, and see differently. The hallucinations are intense, but there’s one vision that keeps Pen coming back for more–Nate. He’s the only person who cares about her. Too bad he’s just a side effect of the drug. Pen knows she’s going nowhere fast. She’s desperate to change. But when she tries to say goodbye to Nate, he professes his love for her making her more confused than ever. Then, when a girl from school goes missing during a bad Fix trip, Pen realizes she may be in a lot more danger than she ever imagined. Unless Pen straightens up and faces reality quick, she might be the next missing girl on the list.”
