*This novel was given to me in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are indeed my own.*

I truthfully stepped out of my comfort zone with this, normally I wouldn’t bother but honestly, I wanted a little challenge from my normal reading venue. My favorite part of this chapbook was the shorter poetry passages, they were absolutely well spun with amazing word usage and I actually really loved how they rhymed just a tiny bit. It was modern mixed with a lot of classic poetry. The theme consisted of older times, like knights, war, and misfortune mixed with love. In all, it was very different for me!

The flash fiction and short stories didn’t really fit for me. To me, they felt thrown in randomly, though the short stories really had my interest in the written aspect, I enjoyed them in their own way.

Huey’s handful of poetry really was striking, my favorite ones are the ones used to separate a chapter or theme into their own section, that part was really well done and enjoyable. I’m actually kind of glad I stepped out of my reading comfort zone to experience this collection, every once in a while you need to try something new!
