McKayla is a 20-year-old author from Poughkeepsie, New York.
She talks about mental illness, abuse, heartbreak, self-discovery, and love in her work. In 2017, she self-published her first collection of poetry, Bones in the Garden, some years after a terrible relationship. Her second collection, Semicolon; was published recently in 2018 after a long debate to not suffer in silence. In her spare time, she is writing book reviews for self-published authors and other books she has recently enjoyed. Mckayla is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Psychology.
